I first heard God on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee where I grew up, shown above. I continue to hear God in silence, in the beauty of creation and in each human voice. I believe that God invites us to live a holy and whole life.
Attending to God’s Presence in silence expands my experience and understanding of the vastness of God’s love and mercy. I believe that spiritual practices will remind us of not only who God is, but who we are. When we listen, we learn how God wants us to be part of the recovery of creation. With discernment, we are able to see God’s activity around us and engage in ways that provide reconciliation. The answers to our world’s needs are within and around us when we listen with intention. I offer spiritual guidance for those seeking to listen for Spirit.
Family life, for me, at this time, centers around four sons, two daughters in love, three adorable grandsons and our newest family member, a granddaughter. Added to our family is four legged “Daisy Doodle” who is full of puppy juice! We are crazy about Washington Capitals hockey.
Wow, we sound like sisters. I yearn for “thin places”, my focus word is “joy”, I am a Lutheran clergywoman. I’ll be married 31 years in July, and I’m a nurse. Bizarre. I hope we can meet face to face some day!
Anne, I’d love to meet my new ‘sister’ face to face! It does sound like we have a lot to talk about, many intersections of story and faith.
Silence is a very tough discipline to get, but once achieved it is the to find God. Great blog!
